Ecco

True passion is essential to making great shoes. From design to production and retail, we apply the utmost attention to detail. ECCO builds its success on uncompromising quality, innovative technology and design. Throughout our history, our philosophy has been to make shoes that are shaped to fit the foot, not the other way around. This is who we are.

OUR VISION IS TO BE THE LEADING PREMIUM BRAND FOR SHOES AND LEATHER GOODS

OUR VALUES

At ECCO we are guided by respect for our heritage, our call for innovation, our quest for excellence, our dedication to care, and our passion.
We care about creating and maintaining strong, positive relationships with our colleagues, our partners, our customers and the societies in which we live and work with respect for diversity.
Our work is based on quality craftsmanship, and we challenge convention in our strive for uniqueness.

OUR TECHNOLOGY

FLUIDFORM™ TECHNOLOGY

Developed by ECCO over three decades, FLUIDFORM™ is a technology that enables us to create ergonomically advanced soles. By injecting a resilient, shock-absorbent material directly into the shoe mould, we bond the sole to the upper instantly and seamlessly, without the compromises common with glued or stitched assemblies. The result is a reliable and durable union between the upper and the sole unit, which offers a finely-tuned balance of cushioning and rebound.

OUR HISTORY

AMBITION WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Karl Toosbuy – the founder of ECCO – had a dream. He wanted to own a shoe factory and run his own business. Trained from an early age as a shoemaker, he gradually rose through the ranks and by his early 30’ies was managing a shoe factory in Copenhagen. The business, however, was not his.
The family decided to give up the security of a regular job, sell their home and move to Bredebro on the west coast of Denmark, just north of the German border. Karl and Birte Toosbuy and their 5-year-old daughter, Hanni, rented a small house and took over an empty factory built by the local community to help create jobs in what was a predominantly agricultural town.
FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS TO THE BREAKTHROUGH

Farmland stretched for miles around the small factory building on the outskirts of Bredebro where Birte and Karl Toosbuy had assembled a small team to get production up and running. Initially limited to ladies’ shoes under the Venus brand, it was a tough start. The Toosbuys worked extremely long hours, tackled endless problems and sometimes doubted whether they would succeed.
The first real breakthrough came in the late 1970s when ECCO’s designer Ejnar Truelsen created the “JOKE”. This was followed by a series of other revolutionary shoes, some of which are still in production today. Karl Toosbuy bought his first direct injection machine to apply high-tech production technology to the business. So confident was he in the machine that he bought a second one before the results from the first had materialised.

Costway

About Costway.com

Costway.com is the online home of Costway, an online company that says they pride themselves on “offering our customers the best product with a preferential price all over the world.”

How Does It Work?

According to their website, Costway.com was established in 2008 and says that they are growing into one of the top retailers in both North America and Europe because of their reputation helping customers purchase satisfactory products at the best price.
Their website says that they pride themselves on providing their customers with plenty of options in the home and garden areas and beyond, and they always promise that when their website says that an item is In Stock, that means it will be packaged and shipped within 24 hours.
Customers who are interested in shopping this store’s inventory will be able to look through their products by category, including Home, Furniture, Outdoor, Hardware, Sporting Goods, Toys & Games, Animals & Pet Supplies, Health & Beauty, and Others.

Cost/Price Plans

Because this company sells such a wide variety of products, there is no one single price or price range that customers should expect to find for the products that are sold here, especially when you take into consideration sales or promotions which may take place throughout the year, or new items that may be added to their inventory during that same time.

Refund Policy

Their website does say that they provide their customers with a 30 day Return Policy which gives customers the right to return products for a refund within the first 30 days of the date of delivery, “due to quality issue occurred in the transit.”
Though it isn’t clear, it appears that this company will only provide their customers with the ability to return their purchase if it was damaged in transit and does not arrive to their home in perfect condition.
Unfortunately, this Refund Policy does not detail any circumstances besides these under which they will accept a refund, which makes it very difficult to feel confident making a major purchase through a website, where you will obviously be unable to see and examine the product in real life.

Customer Service Contact Info

Customers who wish to speak with Customer Service about their questions, concerns, or complaints can do so by email at [email protected].

Reputation

Unfortunately this company does seem to have poor reviews from some unhappy customers, all of which seem to be about the poor quality of the products they received as well as the unhelpfulness of the Customer Service team when they attempted to return their product or call to complain about products that broke soon after they were delivered.
As mentioned above, because this company does not appear to offer a full Refund Policy, but rather only provides a refund if your product arrives at your home already damaged, the fact that this company might be selling products with issues and then not providing customers with helpful assistance after the fact is a major concern. Customers will want to consider this carefully before they make the choice to order from this website.  Visit Costway and start shopping today.

A history of the cardigan and the fabulous women who wear them

One of our favorite essential sweaters is the cardigan. It can easily be dressed up or down, keeping you warm without the bulk. But what are the origins of this classic sweater? It turns out that it has quite the interesting history.
Let’s go back to mid-19th century Britain, when military officers went to battle with a special style of knitted wool sweater that buttoned at the front. This type of sweater did not find itself adapted into civilian menswear until Earl of Cardigan, James Brudenell, became lieutenant general. Legend has it that he was known for his excessive confidence and was well-respected around the kingdom. After leading the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava, he was welcomed home as a hero (despite the British having lost). In his honor, this military-style sweater became known as the cardigan, and its popularity in men’s fashion skyrocketed.
The cardigan remained almost exclusively a functional male garment until the fabulous Coco Chanel began reinventing women’s fashion in the following century. Chanel’s approach to designing clothes for the modern women included adapting pieces traditionally worn by men, like trousers and, of course, cardigans. As a pioneer in the fashion world, she brought the cardigan into the spotlight as a staple sweater for any closet.
Today, cardigans are still synonymous with nostalgic warmth and comfort. As designers interpret the cardigan in their own way, it has become somewhat of a statement piece and a canvas to showcase unique knit techniques, embroidery, prints, and more.
From the fashion pioneer to who absorbed the cardigan into women’s fashion to some of our favorite celebrities, here are five iconic ladies who have been known to attend the cardi party:
 Coco Chanel
Couturier Coco Chanel is arguably the most famous name in women’s fashion, with her eponymous line still as popular today as it ever was.
Diana, Princess of Wales
Throughout her time in the spotlight, Diana Princess of Wales became a fashion icon. As notable wearer of fabulous sweaters she especially loved her cardigans.
Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge
Following in Princess Diana’s stylish footsteps, Kate Middleton has made a name for herself as an approachable fashion icon, also frequently spotted wearing cardigans.
Michelle Obama
Former FLOTUS Michelle Obama was perhaps the most approachable First Lady to date. While she certainly could pull off any high fashion look, she has also been credited for saving the cardigan with the Obama Effect.
I decided to style it with their gorgeous Stripe Combo Sleeveless Dress. This is dress is amazing.  The material is dreamy.  It’s soft and the dress just lays right on you.  I love how they mixed the patterns, giving this dress just the right amount of edge. Jacket and dress are available in both Missy and Women sizes.
Amal Clooney
Renown international human rights lawyer and wife of George Clooney always looks “buttoned up” with classically elegant style. At court or on the red carpet, she always oozes sophistication. Who else could make a cardigan so chic?
