Sponsor

I’ve bluntly name some of my sponsors here, mainly because they are paying the bulk of this blog. My number #1 sponsor will be Target.com, a place where I personally shop a lot from.
This will be a guide to get the most from them.

Find the Best Target Sales and Deals

A smart shopping strategy can help you keep spending within your budget. Hit the bullseye on your next trip to Target with these tips and tricks for scoring a deal at the popular retailer.

About Target

Discount retailer Target sells everything from clothing and electronics to groceries and home furnishings, and competes with the likes of Amazon and Wal-Mart.

Sale events

Target is known for its low everyday prices, but you can get an even better deal during sale events. Here’s a look at when the store typically has sales, so you can plan your next purchase.

  • Major holidays. Whether it’s Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day or Labor Day , you can almost always count on Target to have a sale centered on major holidays. Some of these sales will begin before the actual holiday, so check days or even weeks in advance. Also look for sales around shopping holidays, such as back-to-school season.
  • Black Friday. Target is one of the biggest players in the Black Friday game. Around Thanksgiving, expect the store to launch massive discounts on the season’s most popular toys and electronics.
  • Clearance. All year, Target customers can find savings of up to 60% off in the store’s clearance section.

Rewards program

As part of their REDcard program, Target offers shoppers two different types of cards: a Target Debit Card — which is tied to a shopper’s existing checking account — and a Target Credit Card.
REDcards provide a variety of benefits for cardholders, including a 5% discount on purchases, free shipping for online orders and 30 extra days for returns. But before getting a retail store credit card, be sure to weigh your options.

Target coupons

One way to find Target’s online promo codes and in-store coupons is through the Cartwheel by Target app. Cartwheel allows users to search for and use relevant coupons for the particular items they want to purchase. Shoppers simply ask a cashier to scan the app’s barcode to apply the discounts, ranging from 5% to 30%, depending on the product. This app is available for free from iTunes and Google Play.
For an updated list of Target coupons, you can visit the store’s “Your Coupons” webpage. And you can find a complete roundup of discount offers, including exclusions and promotion ending dates, at the store’s “Current Promotions” landing page.
Don’t forget to cross-compare prices for the same item at different retailers. Target’s Price Match Guarantee promises:

“We’ll match the price if you buy a qualifying item at Target or CityTarget stores then find the identical item for less in the following week’s Target weekly ad or within seven days at Target.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com, BabiesRUs.com or in a competitor’s local printed ad.”

By registering for the retailer’s email list, you can regularly receive new arrival announcements, exclusive offers and promotions; that way, you’ll never miss a sale.

Shipping and returns

Don’t worry if you’d prefer to shop from home instead of driving to your local Target. Shoppers enjoy free standard shipping (3-5 business days) on all online orders over $25. If you can’t meet the minimum for free shipping or want to get your items sooner, the retailer also offers free same-day store pickup for online orders.
And if your Target purchase doesn’t live up to your expectations, returns are quick and simple. According to the store’s return policy, most unopened items in new condition can be returned within 90 days for a refund or exchange.
There are some exceptions. For example, electronics carry a 30-day return period. Online returns can be shipped back for free, or most items can be returned to a store location. Consult the retailer’s return policy on any given item before you make a purchase.
