I had the opportunity to participate in an amazing initiative alongside of Talbots to help support an organization called Dress For Success. “Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life” (taken from www.dressforsuccess.org/about-us).
Myself along with a few other local bloggers (Rebeca, Sabrina, and Mandy) were invited by Charise of Kaeru Communications to bring some of our gently-worn work attire to our local Talbots to donate. Additionally, Talbots has partnered with O, The Oprah Magazine to create a capsule collection – #TalbotsxOmag – which is available only until April 2nd, and in which 30% of the net proceeds will go back to supporting Dress For Success! We were lucky enough to shop some of this collection, as well as some other pieces from Talbots spring line while we were visiting the store. I have linked the pieces I’m wearing below, as well as a couple of other items I picked up while shopping! My favourite piece is definitely the gingham/floral silk scarf from the O capsule, and I have styled it 3 different ways for you in this post. Enjoy!
I have to say that although Talbots has never been on my radar in terms of places I would shop, I was very pleasantly surprised by the Oprah capsule collection and many items in the spring line! I think you will agree that I picked up some really cute pieces that are extremely versatile for the season. If you have a chance to get to your local Talbots before April 2nd and support this wonderful cause, I would really urge you to do so!
